UdelaR Foreign Language Center
It belongs to the Humanities and Educational Sciences College of the Universidad de la República, and offers courses in Spanish as a foreign language on a task-based communicative approach from an intercultural perspective, in the following modalities:

In person or blended semester courses for foreign students enrolled at the Universidad de la República.

Intensive courses in the months of July and January that are open to the general public at a cost.

UTEC Language Program

From an immersive and unstructured approach to language learning, UTEC offers a specific Language for Foreigners program. The experience is structured in three main components:

Courses with a strong emphasis on the practical use of the Spanish language.

Intercultural communication through meeting different students, both local and foreign to practice Spanish.

Culture and recreation with a guided tour program visiting restaurants, natural parks, historical sites and even nightclubs.

Academia Uruguay
Academia Uruguay is an Accredited Center of the Cervantes Institute of Spain and is a school dedicated to teaching Spanish as a foreign language in Montevideo.
​
The school offers individual and group lessons for all levels of Spanish (from beginner to advanced) and organizes special courses including classes for Spanish teachers, classes designed for Brazilian students, Spanish and tango, and Spanish and volunteering, among others.

Berlitz has standardized 10 levels of fluency for its languages ranging from functional to professional skills. Most languages are available through in-person groups or online programs.

International House Montevideo is an Accredited Center of the Cervantes Institute for Spanish, and offers tailor-made courses for foreigners.

It has a team of qualified teachers with extensive experience in teaching Spanish to foreigners of different nationalities. In addition, the foreign student who comes to study Spanish has an intense cultural and social agenda that allows them to apply the language in real contexts.

La Herradura is a Spanish language school located in Montevideo and Punta del Este. They offer individual and group classes for all levels.
